Turkey Creek Sanctuary

Located in the heart of Palm Bay, The Turkey Creek Sanctuary is a part of the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) program and the East Florida section of the Great Florida Birding Trail. Sitting on 130-acres of land, the Turkey Creek Sanctuary consists of a 1.85-mile boardwalk nature trail passing through the wet and moist hammock and sand pine scrub communities and 1.5 miles of jogging trails through native forest. On top of walking, jogging, and cycling, the Sanctuary can also be available by canoe or kayak.

Founded in 1981, most of the trails overlook Turkey Creek, allowing for excellent viewing of wildlife. Expect to see manatees, alligators, turtles, otters, or garfish. Birds abound in the pine canopy, which includes ospreys and owls.

Open seven days a week with free admission and parking. You can explore the beautiful sanctuary yourself or on a ranger-led tour.
